Furniture Care Guide

This guide applies to products purchased from Roofviewsy (hereinafter referred to as “we”) and is intended to help you maintain your furniture for long-term use.

1. General Maintenance

  • Keep furniture clean and dust-free using a soft, dry cloth.

  • Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive tools that may scratch or damage surfaces.

  • Ensure furniture is placed on a stable and even surface to prevent warping or stress.

  • Rotate décor items such as lamps or vases occasionally to avoid pressure spots or fading patches.

2. Wood Furniture Care

  • Clean regularly with a microfiber cloth to remove dust.

  • For deeper cleaning, use mild, non-ammonia wood solutions and wipe dry immediately.

  • Keep items away from direct sunlight to avoid discoloration or cracking.

  • Avoid placing hot items directly on the surface; use mats or heat pads.

  • Maintain indoor humidity within a comfortable range to prevent wood expansion or shrinkage.

3. Fabric Upholstery Care

  • Vacuum regularly using a low-suction handheld attachment to remove dirt and particles.

  • Treat spills immediately by blotting gently with a dry cloth—do not rub.

  • Use fabric-safe cleaners when needed and test them in a hidden area first.

  • Allow cushions to recover by changing positions and flipping when possible.

  • Avoid sharp objects and rough clothing materials that may cause pilling or snags.

4. Leather & Faux Leather Furniture

  • Wipe with a damp cloth weekly to remove oils, dust, and buildup.

  • Apply leather-safe conditioner periodically to maintain suppleness (if applicable).

  • Keep away from direct heat sources such as heaters or vents.

  • Do not use alcohol-based wipes, strong detergents, or acidic cleaners.

5. Metal & Hardware Components

  • Use a soft cloth and mild soap solution to remove fingerprints or smudges.

  • Dry surfaces thoroughly after cleaning to reduce moisture buildup.

  • Inspect screws, legs, and attachments periodically and tighten if needed.

  • Keep metal areas free from prolonged exposure to water to prevent corrosion.

6. Outdoor Use Considerations

(If applicable to your product)

  • Store cushions and fabric elements indoors when not in use.

  • Protect furniture with covers during seasonal weather changes.

  • Wipe water or moisture promptly to prevent surface changes.

  • Avoid extended sun exposure to preserve finish, texture, and color.

7. Weight & Usage Guidelines

  • Use furniture only for its intended purpose.

  • Do not overload shelves, seating areas, or structural parts beyond reasonable use.

  • Avoid dragging furniture—lift and move carefully to protect joints and flooring.

8. Periodic Inspection

  • Review furniture regularly for loose joints, uneven legs, or structural shifts.

  • Address minor issues early to prevent further wear.

  • If components appear misaligned or unstable, discontinue use until resolved.

9. Long-Term Preservation Tips

  • Maintain a clean, dry indoor environment.

  • Keep furniture away from fireplaces, radiators, or vents.

  • Use protective felt pads beneath legs for flooring protection.

  • Store furniture safely if relocating or rearranging your space.
